The Bar Mitzwah of the Egalitarian Minyan June 2007 (Report coming)

Pesach 5767 / 2008

As we all know, the number four plays a prominent role at Pesach: the four questions, the four sons, the four cups of wine and HaShem’s four promises to the Israelites.
For our Egalitarian Minyan, it was felicitous indeed to be able to celebrate four premieres on Pesach:

1. 65 participants – by far the largest number of people we have ever had!

2. Our new rooms – for the first time, we celebrated in our new Shi’ur-Room on Friedrichstrasse! Our rooms are too small for such a large crowd, but we were determined to celebrate Pesach in our new home. And thus:

4. Seder dinner – catered for the first time by Max Koscher Deli in Offenbach! We enjoyed two wonderful Seders.

Against the backdrop of our not-quite-finished, but already very beautiful Shi’ur-Room, we sat around the table like one big family, celebrating, singing, talking. It was a meaningful, auspicious beginning. We will officially dedicate our new synagogue in mid-June during our Bar Mitzvah celebrations. Until we reach that milestone, we still have much to do. But we look to the future with gratitude and great expectation.
